Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott

American author, Louisa May Alcott was born on this day in 1832.  She is best known for her children’s work, Little Women, which depicts the story of the four March sisters who learn the hard lessons of poverty growing up in New England during the Civil War.  Before passing away in 1888, Alcott published over 30 books and collections of stories.
